About the Event
Join renowned sock puppets Moshe and Haim as they travel through Jewish tales and teach us how to make the world a better place.
Bal tashchit (Hebrew for “do not destroy”) is a core Jewish value that urges all of us to preserve the earth and its resources. Join us for this special play (for Earth Day) inspired by PJ Library’s "Something From Nothing," where our puppets find creative ways to make good use of what might otherwise be thrown away.
This is a FREE program. For children 3-8 years old. Register here in advance to get the Zoom link.
For the introductory family activity, we will create 'bee' art out of cardboard toilet paper rolls. Bees are important for the planet as pollinators.
Supplies needed: • Toilet paper roll • Markers and/or crayons • White paper • Yellow Paper • Scissors • Glue or tape
Up a Tree Puppetry duo (Peter Olson and Ilan Vitemberg) performs original and classic stories with the hope of creating understanding and bringing joy to people of all ages through acrobatics, puppetry, music, and creativity. Their shows are performed in English, Hebrew, Arabic and Spanish.
Co-sponsored by PJ Library Bay Area and Oshman Family JCC.
Supported by JCC SF, JCC East Bay, Contra Costa JCC, PJCC and Marin JCC
