From GENTLEMEN'S AGREEMENT to HUAC
Time & Location
Oct 14, 2020, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
About the Event
In this two-hour course, EBIJFF Director Riva Gambert will trace the rise of the House UnAmerican Committee (HUAC) that had a major impact on Hollywood for more than a decade. She will also examine Crossfire and The Gentleman’s Agreement, the two 1947 films that were the first to capture American antisemitism, for how they approached the subject. This is a follow-up to August’s course on film censorship in Hollywood.
This course is free as a community service. Register here to receive the Zoom link that will be emailed an hour before the course start time.
Sponsored by EBIJFF in partnership with Contra Costa JCC and Cong. B’nai Shalom.
