About the Event
What do the terms "Sephardi and Mizrahi" mean? How do we lift up and celebrate the stories of Jews who came from Arab and Muslim countries in our communities today? In this interactive session we will explore some of the history and cultures of the Jewish communities of the Middle East and North Africa.
Tamar Zaken served for over a decade on the leadership team of Memizrach Shemesh- the Center for Jewish Social Activism in Israel. There, she used Sephardic texts as community organizing tools, and ran a Jewish service learning program for more than 300 youth leaders. In her spare time, Tamar translates Sephardic Rabbinic texts to expose English-speaking audiences to their inspiring message of inclusion and justice.
Admission is $5. Upon registration, you will first receive a confirmation email. An hour before the program begins, we will email the Zoom link you need to join the event. If you don't see these emails, please check your spam/junk folder to retrieve them. We suggest you add "notifications@wixevents.com" to your contacts list as well.
