About the Event
Rachel Biale takes us on a beautiful and thought-provoking journey back to the 50s and 60s when kibbutz children were raised in a Children’s House nearly from birth and life for young kibbutzniks was robust and buoyant. Her parents’ journey fleeing the Nazis in 1939, however, resulted in long internments in British refugee camps. Biale traces her childhood on the kibbutz as well as her “revisit” to learn about the personal “journeys” of her childhood companions.
