Eid is a Jerusalem-based political analyst, human rights pioneer and expert commentator on Arab and Palestinian affairs. He spent his first 33 years in a refugee camp, learning first hand about the abuses conducted by the Palestinian Authority and Hamas and the need for UNRWA reform. Eid is also an outspoken critic of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, otherwise known as BDS. The Association for Civil Rights in Israel has awarded him its Emil Gruenzweig Memorial Award.
