About the Event
Born in Tehran as a member of a thriving Jewish community, award-winning author Jacqueline Saper knows firsthand the stranglehold Iran’s “Morality Police” have had on the country’s population. Her own comfortable life ended at 18 with the 1979 Iranian revolution when suddenly Jews became outsiders in the county. Saper’s 2020 book From Miniskirt to Hijab presented the true and harrowing story of her family’s survival under Islamic law and their escape to America. On October 13, she will provide an insider’s view of Iran today and how the growing rebellion against the country’s radical restrictions may lead to a change in the regime.
