About the Event

Elana and Saul are renowned Bay Area Jewish artists and composers. They light up Jewish communities around the country with their unique approach to Jewish music, stepped in deep love and knowledge of our tradition.

Elana Jagoda Kaye is bringing a fresh approach to new Jewish Music. From her love of Judaism and her vast array of Jewish experiences, she performs from the deep wellspring of her soul. Her CDs have been distributed to over 50,000 families across the country and her latest release, “This is What I Offer You,” is a deeply personal exploration of light, struggle, and finding her voice through these challenging times. With a background of varying musical styles, Saul Kaye was pulled towards an idea that he claimed wouldn’t leave him alone—the natural marriage of Jewish history, characters, and liturgy with the Blues. Saul digs deep into the Torah, Psalms and Writings, making use of a vast array of stylistic influences, showcasing the gritty tones of his Les Paul, the Delta Acoustic slide howl, and his creative alternative tunings and fingerpicking.

The duo will be joined by Congregation B’nai Shalom’s own musical maven, Ḥazzan Sandy Bernstein, and by percussionist and world music master Gastón Bernstein.
