About the Event
From this point on, Emmy Award-nominated Bess Kalb's book will be referred to as just "THE BOOK" as we like "pithy." "Pithy," however, is not the right word to define Ms. Kalb's accomplishments.
An Emmy Award-nominated writer for the TV show and a journalist with magazine, she graduated from Brown University, and received a Writers Guild of America Award for Television and has written for the Emmy Awards and the Academy Awards. She has contributed articles to and other publications.Jimmy Kimmel Live! The New Yorker , The New Republic, GQ.comSalon.com
THE BOOK tells the story of her grandmother, Bobby Bell, from her own mother's migration from Russia and her birth on a kitchen table in a Brooklyn tenement, to her life in upscale New York suburbs of Westchester to her death at age 90. Kalb adds her own comedic observations of their relationship from their conversations and voicemails.
